3.   NEW Business

1. Presentation on VETS DIGEST. Presentation by Aaron Saari, Founder and Curator of the dynamic new weekly SF Vets Digest and Calendar that gathers and publicizes Veteran Related events in S.F. and Bay Area.

2. Re-establishment of Communications with Office of the Mayor.  Pres. Noetzel to review months-long lack of response to communication with Office of the Mayor and present suggested Letter to the Mayor, signed by all Commissioners. (Potential Action Item)  

4.   OLD Business

         A.  First Annual North Beach Veterans Day Parade and Festival.  Pres. Noetzel to provide Update Report on continuing progress being made by ALWMC Commissioner and Event Director Nelson Lum, on this initiative.

         B.  VAC Research Team on Veterans Mental Health .  Comm. D. Guy, Team Leader to report.

         C.   Veterans Housing  Review of Dufty presentation and new housing announcement

         D.   Research Team on Restorative Justice for Port Chicago Sailors.  Update Report by team leader Comm. A. Jenkins.

         E.    83rd Annual U.S. Mayors Conference, in S.F., June 19-22 2015.  Potential for SFVAC Representation at Veterans Affairs Task Force session, scheduled for Friday morning, June 19.  Pres. Noetzel and Comm. Marshall to report.

         F.    Status Report on Compilation of Services Available to Bay Area Veterans.  Commissioner Sam Pandey is on active duty deployment at present and will report on further advancement of his Study in future VAC meetings.

5.  Veterans Related LEGISLATION.  Commissioners invited to inform Commission on new or potential Legislation regarding Veterans or Veterans Community.

6.  WAR MEMORIAL VETERANS BUILDING  Discussion on issues or events NOT associated with item 3A., above.

7.   ANNOUNCEMENTS:  Floor opened for short announcements of veteran related events and/or activities

8. Honors Report and Moment of Silence:

In memory of American Armed Service members who have made the ultimate sacrifice in all wars and conflicts, plus the passing of homeless veterans and veterans who died while waiting approval of benefits requests and suicides within the veterans and armed services community.

VETERANS AFFAIRS COMMISSION MEETINGS

General Meetings of the VAC are scheduled for 6:00pm (on) the SECOND TUESDAY of every month, (with rare exception), and are generally held in ROOM 416 in CITY HALL

MEETING CONFIRMATION, and Specific Announcement of General Meetings are made via public Posting of MEETING AGENDAS as required by law, some 72 hours prior to scheduled meetings.
