  • Every commissioner gave a brief introduction about their background and why they joined the commission.

PUBLIC COMMENT

            Antonia Bernhardt, Chief of Strategic Planning at the Department of Veteran’s Affairs, introduced herself and announced a job opening for Innovation Specialist at the VA.         

STRATEGIC PLANNING

  • Audit of non-profits
  • Funding for a full-time secretary
  • Below Market Rate housing program for Veterans
  • Housing and Urban Development

Legislative Committee – Commissioner Tucker

  • San Francisco Veteran’s Center needs to be relocated by 2024
    • Needs 3500 sq ft of ground level space
    • 10 spaces for parking
    • ADA considerations
    • Located in San Francisco
  • State needs to fund adequately the County Veteran’s Service Office
    • State owes CVSO funding every year
    • Need to confirm that this funding

Communications Committee – Commissioner Bullard

  • Maintain social media accounts
  • Maintain website

Events Committee – Commissioner Barnickel

  • SFPD walk through Chinatown
  • District 4 housing project at 25th Avenue and Irving St

Rules Committee – Commissioner Ishikata

Finance Committee – Commissioner Marshall

  • Write a formal letter to city attorney requesting funding or to be a charter commission

  • November Awards Ceremony
