The Mayor’s Disability Council (MDC) announces their public meeting agenda items for April 15, 2022. The meeting will be held virtually. We hope that you will attend.

This meeting will focus on the theme, Providing Support to Small Businesses in Being Accessible to People with Disabilities
Item 1: Panel presentation on current programs to support accessibility of small businesses: What has been done to publicize them? How many businesses have made use of them?
Accessible Business Entrance and ADA CASp Assessment Program
- Presented by San Francisco Office of Economic and Workforce Development
Shared Spaces Accessibility Grant Program
- Presented by Shared Spaces Program
Item 2: Moderated Forum: What more can be done to publicize these programs? What other gaps need to be addressed, such as assistance to restaurants and bars in providing plastic straws to customers with disabilities when requested, or with making small business websites accessible? How can customers with disabilities get involved by recognizing their favorite businesses and giving them positive ideas for becoming more accessible?
- This will be a moderated discussion between MDC members and presenters from Item 1, along with other relevant entities.
These virtual meetings will be broadcast on SFGov.TV cable stations 26 and 78, and may be viewed online at https://sfgovtv.org/. Captioning and sign language interpretation provided.
A detailed agenda, along with specific instructions for viewing the meeting and participating in public comment, will be distributed by email and posted on the MOD website at least one week before each meeting.
