8          INFORMATION AND ACTION ITEM:  Evacuation Chair Update, including request for MDC approval of prioritization criteria for evacuation chair installation in City-Occupied buildings of three or more stories. Presentation by Joanna Fraguli and John Paul Scott, Mayor’s Office on Disability. 

 

9.         INFORMATION ITEM: The November Elections.  Services to voters with specific needs, including information about accessible voting materials, voting by mail, curbside voting, use and availability of the Automark ballot marking machine that allows voters with mobility or visual impairments to vote independently and privately, update on accessibility of polling sites, etc. Presentation by Charles McNulty, Department of Elections.

Mayor’s Disability Council
Accessible Meeting Information

 

City Hall is accessible to persons using wheelchairs and other disabilities.  The Polk Street/ Carlton B. Goodlett entrance is accessible via a ramp and a wheelchair lift.  The other three entrances are accessible via ramps.  Assistive listening devices are available and the meeting itself will be real-time captioned and sign language interpreted. Agendas are available in large print and Braille.  Other materials are available in alternative formats upon request.  Please make your requests for alternative format or additional accommodations to the Council Clerk, Howard O. Wong, 554-6789 (V), 554-6799 (TTY). Requesting accommodations at least 72 hours prior to the meeting will help to ensure availability.

The nearest accessible BART station is Civic Center Plaza at the intersection of Market, Grove, and Hyde Streets.  The accessible MUNI Metro lines are the J, K, L, M, N and T (Civic Center Station or Van Ness Avenue Station).  MUNI bus lines serving the area are the 47 & 49 Van Ness, 9 San Bruno, and the 6, 7, 71 Haight/ Noriega.  Accessible curbside parking is available on 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place and Grove Street.

 In order to assist the City’s efforts to accommodate persons with severe allergies, environmental illness, multiple chemical sensitivity or related disabilities, attendees at public meetings are reminded that other attendees may be sensitive to perfumes and various other chemical-based scented products.  Please help the City to accommodate these individuals.
