8.         INFORMATION ITEM:  Update on the Impact of the Proposed State Budget on Persons with

            Disabilities. Presentation by Marty Omoto, California Disability Community Action Network

9.         INFORMATION ITEM: Van Ness Avenue Bus Rapid Transit Project – Determining the Relative

            Importance of the Evaluation Criteria. Presentation by Rachel Hiatt, Senior Transportation Planner,

           S.F. County Transportation Authority. 

 

The Van Ness Avenue Bus Rapid Transit Project has proposed four design alternatives for construction, each with unique benefits and trade-offs. In an effort to gauge public input, a set of criteria has been developed against which each alternative will be evaluated. Ms. Hiatt will lead us in an exercise of assigning weights to each of the criteria in order to determine their relative importance.

            Coordinator CCSF Police Department.

11.       INFORMATION ITEM:  Mayor’s Disability Council Awards for Excellence – Calls for Nominations.

 

·        Awards are given to individuals or organizations who have excelled in furthering disability rights for people with disabilities in San Francisco City Government programs, services, activities, or facilities.

·        The awards are given to those who by themselves or in collaboration with others have gone above and beyond to create systems change.

·        The award celebrates efforts that have increased the integration of people with disabilities, have improved awareness of disability rights issues, or have otherwise furthered the work of the Mayor’s Disability Council and the Mayor’s Office on Disability.

·        Up to three awards may be given to individuals, programs or departments.  Nominations will be considered for outstanding work in communication access, programmatic access, or architectural access.

Please note that no materials may be distributed for consideration or review by Council Members at a meeting, unless these materials have been provided to MOD Staff in electronic format at least two days (and preferably four days) prior to the meeting.

Accessible Meeting Information

 

City Hall is accessible to persons using wheelchairs and other disabilities.  The Polk Street/ Carlton B. Goodlett entrance is accessible via a ramp and a wheelchair lift.  The other three entrances are accessible via ramps.  Assistive listening devices are available and the meeting itself will be real-time captioned. Agendas are available in large print and Braille.  Other materials are available in alternative formats upon request.  Please make your requests for alternative format or additional accommodations to the Council Clerk Mabel Martinez, 554-6789 (V), 554-6799 (TTY), email mod@sfgov.org. Requesting accommodations at least 72 hours prior to the meeting will help to ensure availability.

The nearest accessible BART station is Civic Center Plaza at the intersection of Market, Grove, and Hyde Streets.  The accessible MUNI Metro lines are the J, K, L, M, and N (Civic Center Station or Van Ness Avenue Station).  MUNI bus lines serving the area are the 47 Van Ness, 9 San Bruno, and the 6, 7, 71 Haight/ Noriega.  Accessible curbside parking is available on 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place and Grove Street.

In order to assist the City’s efforts to accommodate persons with severe allergies, environmental illness, multiple chemical sensitivity or related disabilities, attendees at public meetings are reminded that other attendees may be sensitive to perfumes and various other chemical-based scented products.  Please help the City to accommodate these individuals.
