5.    INFORMATION ITEM: Report from the Mayor’s Office on Disability. 
 
6.    INFORMATION ITEM: Single Room Occupancy Hotel Elevator Assessment and Rebate Program. This presentation introduces the Elevator Rebate Program that was launched on April 26, 2017.  The purpose of the program is to improve quality of life and increase accessibility for tenants residing in single room occupancy (SRO) hotels. Presentation by Arfaraz Khambatta, Deputy Director for Architectural Access, Mayor’s Office on Disability and Lorene Agujetas, Property Rehab Project Manager, Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development.

7.    INFORMATION ITEM: An update on activities in June,  July and August at the San Francisco Public Library. People in the Disability Community will have a chance to register to vote at the library during National Disability Voter Registration Week (July 17 – 21.) A number of exciting programs are happening during the  AND “Patient No More” exhibition (June 10 – September 3). We want to invite people to enjoy both initiatives. Presentation by Marti Goddard, Access Services Manager and ADA Coordinator for Public Programs and Services, San Francisco Public Library.

8.     INFORMATION ITEM: Patient No More: Disability  History at the Main SF Public Library this Summer. Patient No More: People with Disabilities Securing Civil Rights, is a multimedia disability history exhibit coming to the San Francisco main library June 3 - Sept 10. Learn more about how this exhibit and accompanying programming as we are celebrating the Bay Area's contributions to disability rights and the 40th anniversary of the 504 sit-in. Presentation by Emily Beitiks, Associate Director, Longmore Institute on Disability, San Francisco State University

9.    INFORMATION ITEM: Making Voting Accessible Now and in the Future. Description of voting accessibility now, the need for SF’s new voting system to be even more accessible and how accessibility could be improved in the meantime. Presentation by Fred Nisen, Supervising Attorney for Voting Rights, and Bill Hershon, Staff Attorney Disability Rights CA.

10.    INFORMATION ITEM: Update on current issues regarding voting systems and accessible voting. Discussion will include initial accessibility recommendations for a new and intermediate voting system as well as information on the accessible boat by mail initiative. Presentation by John Arntz, Director, San Francisco Department of Elections.

Accessible Meeting Information

City Hall is accessible to persons using wheelchairs and other assistive mobility devices.  Wheelchair access is provided at the Grove, Van Ness and McAllister streets via ramps.  Wheelchair access at the Polk Street/ Carlton B. Goodlett entrance is provided through a wheelchair lift. Assistive listening devices are available and the meeting itself will be real-time captioned and sign language interpreted. Agendas are available in large print and Braille.  Other materials are available in alternative formats upon request.

The nearest accessible BART station is Civic Center Plaza at the intersection of Market, Grove, and Hyde Streets.  The accessible MUNI Metro lines are the J, K, L, M, and N (Civic Center Station or Van Ness Avenue Station).  MUNI bus lines serving the area are the 47 Van Ness, the 49 Van Ness, 9 San Bruno, 5-Fulton, 6, 7, and 21-Hayes. Accessible curbside parking is available on 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place and Grove Street.

In order to assist the City in accommodating persons with severe allergies, environmental illness, multiple chemical sensitivity or related disabilities, please refrain from wearing scented products to MDC Meetings or when visiting the MOD Office. This includes perfume, scented lotions, detergents, or hairsprays, etc. Thank you for helping us to provide meetings that are fully accessible to all people with disabilities.
Per the Language Access Ordinance (Chapter 91 of the San Francisco Administrative Code), Chinese, Spanish and or Filipino (Tagalog) interpreters will be available upon request. Assistance in additional languages may be honored whenever possible.
