1.    WELCOME, INTRODUCTION, and ROLL CALL.

2.    ACTION ITEM:  Reading and Approval of the Agenda.

3.    PUBLIC COMMENT:  Items not on today’s agenda, but within the jurisdiction of the MDC.  Each speaker is limited to three minutes.

4.    INFORMATION ITEM: Co-Chair Report.

5.    INFORMATON ITEM:  Staff report from the Mayor’s Office on Disability.

6.    INFORMATION ITEM: Homelessness in San Francisco.  The facts about the size of the challenge, what we are doing, and what changes are coming.  Presentation by Sam Dodge, Director, Mayor’s Office of Housing Opportunity, Partnerships and Engagement (HOPE).

7.    INFORMATION ITEM:  Department of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS) Benefits and Resources Hub at 2 Gough. The DAAS intake services manager will give an overview of the services offered at 2 Gough along with the description of the space.  He will also discuss part time employment opportunities for seniors and/or younger adults with disabilities, serving as community liaisons who provide information and support for consumers who visit this one stop shop. Presentation by Jason Adamek, DAAS Intake Services Manager.

8.    INFORMATION ITEM: Mandatory Access Improvements to Small Businesses. A response to a multi-year study involving various City and County departments and Community Based Organizations, to increase access to small businesses for people with disabilities.  This ordinance will help businesses comply with the ADA and raise awareness of business’ responsibility for barrier removal.  Presentation by Regina Dick-Endrizzi, Executive Director, Office of Small Business; Rick Halloran, Senior Building Inspector, DBI;  Dyanna Quizon, Legislative Aide, Office of Supervisor Katy Tang.

9.    INFORMATION ITEM: Proposed Improvements on Lower Stockton Street.  An alternative to Lower Stockton Street that will improve pedestrian safety, increase transit reliability and make Lower Stockton Street a vibrant space for businesses and visitors.  Presentation by Dan Howard, Transit Engineer, SFMTA and Chava Kronenberg, Program Manager, SFMTA.

Accessible Meeting Information

City Hall is accessible to persons using wheelchairs and other assistive mobility devices.  Wheelchair access is provided at the Grove, Van Ness and McAllister streets via ramps.  Wheelchair access at the Polk Street/ Carlton B. Goodlett entrance is provided through a wheelchair lift. Assistive listening devices are available and the meeting itself will be real-time captioned and sign language interpreted. Agendas are available in large print and Braille.  Other materials are available in alternative formats upon request.

The nearest accessible BART station is Civic Center Plaza at the intersection of Market, Grove, and Hyde Streets.  The accessible MUNI Metro lines are the J, K, L, M, and N (Civic Center Station or Van Ness Avenue Station).  MUNI bus lines serving the area are the 47 Van Ness, the 49 Van Ness, 9 San Bruno, 5-Fulton, 6, 7, and 21-Hayes. Accessible curbside parking is available on 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place and Grove Street.

In order to assist the City in accommodating persons with severe allergies, environmental illness, multiple chemical sensitivity or related disabilities, please refrain from wearing scented products to MDC Meetings or when visiting the MOD Office. This includes perfume, scented lotions, detergents, or hairsprays, etc. Thank you for helping us to provide meetings that are fully accessible to all people with disabilities.

Per the Language Access Ordinance (Chapter 91 of the San Francisco Administrative Code), Chinese, Spanish and or Filipino (Tagalog) interpreters will be available upon request. Assistance in additional languages may be honored whenever possible.
