COMPLAINT COMMITTEE

MINUTES*

Tuesday, October 21, 2003
3:00 p.m., City Hall, Room 406

 

Committee Members: Doug Comstock, Chair; Bruce Brugmann, Sue Cauthen

Note: Action items: First name indicates Member making motion; second name indicates Member seconding motion. All items unanimous except as noted.


The meeting was called to order at 3:03 p.m.


Roll Call: Present: Brugmann, Cauthen, and Comstock

1.

Approval of minutes of September 9, 2003.

Minutes approved. (Cauthen/Brugmann)

2.

Determination of jurisdiction of complaint of Ronald Van Pool against the Fire Department for alleged failure to provide records.


Lorrie Kalos, Assistant Deputy Chief of the San Francisco Fire Department spoke in support of the Fire Department.

Motion adopted approving jurisdiction of the complaint. (Cauthen/Brugmann)

3.

Determination of jurisdiction of complaint of Patrick Monette-Shaw against the Office of the Mayor for alleged failure to provide records.

Mr. Patrick Monette-Shaw spoke in support of his complaint.

Motion adopted approving jurisdiction of the complaint. (Brugmann/Cauthen)

   

4.

Determination of jurisdiction of complaint of John Harrison against the San Francisco Residential Rent Stabilization & Arbitration Board for alleged overcharging of tape recordings of hearings.

 


Donna Hall, Task Force Administrator reported that the San Francisco Residential Rent Stabilization & Arbitration Board would honor the Sunshine Ordinance requirement in the future and revise their policies and not charge $7.00 per tape copying charge. They offered to refund overcharged monies to Mr. Harrison. Administrator tried to contact Mr. John Harrison by e-mail to advise him to contact the Board for a refund, but no reply has been received to date.

Motion adopted approving jurisdiction of the complaint. (Brugmann/Cauthen)
