Determination of jurisdiction on complaint filed by Anonymous against the MTA for failure to provide meeting information and making online access difficult
Complainant Barry Taranto said he is an advocate and an activist within the taxi industry and regularly attends MTA meetings when it meets on parking and traffic issues. He said that getting documents from the MTA had become difficult ever since the department took over the duties of the Parking and Traffic Commission, Parking and Traffic Department and the Taxi Commission. He said he recently went to seek the agenda packet for a MTA board meeting and got upset when it wasn't handed to him immediately. The agency also does not provide meeting information at the meeting sites, he said. He also said the links on the webpage were not indexed according to the calendar.
Respondent Roberta Boomer said she is the secretary for the SFMTA Board of Directors and Parking Authority Commission. She said the Task Force has jurisdiction over the matter and would appear before the Task Force on May 26, 2009. She added that all documents are available on line and also in a format available for the visually impaired.
Motion to find jurisdiction. ( Johnson / Knoebber )
