Discussion of possible amendments to the Sunshine Ordinance

1. "Passive meeting" and "passive meeting bodies."
2. Other relevant issues that the Task Force wish to raise.
3. Department/agency feedback regarding Sunshine Ordinance Amendments including but not limited to the Office of the City Attorney.
4. Sections 67.3-67.71 of the Sunshine Ordinance

In accordance with Committee consensus, member Knee instructed Administrator to identify on future agendas the description of the sections that will be discussed and to indicate that subsequent section(s) may be heard if time permits.

In accordance with Committee consensus, member Knee instructed the Administrator to report on the Department of Elections and the Boards’ timeline for getting items on the November 2006, ballot at the next meeting.

Consideration of survey asking individuals who have filed sunshine-related complaints how well SOTF has responded.

In accordance with Committee consensus, member Knee instructed the Administrator to send out surveys to complainants from 2003 forward, approximately two years.

Member Craven requested that a copy of the Complaint Log be provided for future meetings.

In accordance with Committee consensus, member Knee instructed the Administrator to request that the MOCJ be present at the next Committee meeting to discuss steps that MOJC has taken to ensure timeliness in responding to public-record requests.
