Adoption of July 9, 2009, regular meeting minutes

Motion to adopt July 9, 2009, regular meeting minutes ( Johnson / Cauthen )

Brochure: Referral from Task Force

The committee made more changes and sent it back to the Task Force for approval. Changes include insertion of code sections and explainatory language.

Outreach for Sunshine presentations
· Glen Park Association., SFPD community meetings, Council of District Merchants Associations, Office of Economic and Workforce Development, League of Women Voters

Chair Cauthen said:
· Outreach to Coalition for SF Neighborhoods on hold.
· Possibility of Sunshine presentation at Library CAC meeting on August 19 at 6 p.m. in City Hall Room 278 or at a future date.
· Arranging date with Christina Palone for presentation at Office of Economic and Workforce Development’s monthly meeting in September.
· Write outreach memo to SFPD captains.
· Write outreach memo to Council of District Merchants Associations.
· Following up with Glen Park president.
· Call Mary Anderson of the League of Women Voters.

Planning Department “appointment” requirement

Chair Cauthen noted that the Planning Department has eliminated its requirement that the public make an appointment to review public records. The new stance is outlined in a letter from Commission Secretary Linda Avery.

SFPUC’s Sunshine procedures

Update: YBR printing issues

Member Johnson said he will pay $160 for 5,000 flyers that will have key Sunshine Ordinance points in English on one side and Spanish on the other. The flyer can be distributed at public functions.

Chair Cauthen wants flyer to be placed on the next meeting agenda so committee can review the draft document.
