1. Minutes of July 19, 2001. Accepted for filing. (Kowalczuk/Guillory) (Williams absent)
2. Recommendation to the Task Force regarding the appointment of community outreach person(s)
Chair Guillory to prepare draft procedures outline for a volunteer community outreach person to be appointed from the community to assist the Committee; procedures to include community liaison, preparation of instructional material; press releases; help with identification of community groups to address, etc.; recommendation to be made to the Task Force to appoint Sue Cauthen to this position for a three-month period; consensus reached to present these ideas to the Task Force at their September 25 meeting.
3. Progress of implementing work plan
Discussion held for continued outreach to neighborhood groups; outreach to local media; work on additional press releases, continued design of materials; letter to non-profits.
4. Schedule date of regular meeting of Public Education & Information Committee
Agreed to continue scheduling the meetings for the first Thursday of each month, 4:00 p.m.
