Chair Jenkins appointed David Pilpel to serve on the Task Force for the June 10 meeting.

Approval of minutes of April 27, 2004. Minutes amended to add a Call to Order time of 3:50 p.m. after Roll Call. Minutes approved as amended. (Pilpel/Parker)

Discussion of work program for 2004.
A discussion was held on:
- Member Pilpel recommended changing the name of the Public Education & Information Committee to Education, Outreach & Training Committee;
- Whether Department staff who deals with the public should be required or invited to participate in Sunshine training in order to better comply with the Ordinance;
- Whether the Public Education & Information Committee should hold community meetings and on what issues;
- Whether community meetings about the proposed Sunshine Ordinance amendments be held and in what type of forum;
- Inviting staff from SFGTV and DTIS to a Committee meeting in August or September to make a presentation on how they see their role in terms of facilitating meaningful public participation in government through the channels of the television and the web.
