Discussion of Board of Supervisors changes to proposed amendments to the Sunshine Ordinance.
Task Force Members discussed the proposed changes to the Sunshine Ordinance as last discussed by the Board of Supervisors Rules Committee. The Task Force had objection to a number of the changes in the originally proposed amendments, specifically the addition of an amendment section giving the Board of Supervisors an amendment provision. Bill Barnes from Supervisor Daly’s Office addressed the Task Force giving clarification on a number of the changes.
Public comment from Bruce Brugmann urging the Task Force to ask Supervisor Daly to not go forward with this ordinance stating it will dismantle the current ordinance.
Public comment from Lurilla Harris stating she agreed with Mr. Brugmann.
Public comment from Peter Warfield regarding amendments to the Sunshine Ordinance, specifically concerned with the substitution for paper; public comment times; fees.
Motion introduced that the Task Force requests Supervisory Daly to pull this package (Knee/Comstock); and (amendment to the motion agreed by Member Knee (Cauthen/Comstock) pending further scrutiny for consideration at a future time. Ayes: Knee, Cauthen, Sterner, Comstock, Pilpel, Parker, Nickliss. Noes: None. Absent: Jenkins, Williams.
The Task Force Members commended Supervisor Daly and Bill Barnes from Supervisor Daly’s Office; Member Comstock; and all Members for their work on the ordinance changes.
