1. Call to Order
Meeting was called to order at 4:30 pm.
Commissioners Jones, Guerra, Hirano, Chan, LaCroix present.
Staff: Lauterborn

2. Approval of Agenda (Action Item)
Agenda approved by acclamation.

5. Business
a. Discussion on possible collaboration between the Student Advisory Council and the San Francisco Youth Commission
Item was continued with no action.

b. Textbook Lending
Commissioners Guerra and LaCroix discussed urging San Francisco State University to adopt the textbook lending program for low-income youth practiced at Chabot University.

c. Youth Works Resolution
Commissioners Guerra and LaCroix discussed the Youth Commissioner’s resolution 0910AL04 on the YouthWorks program. The Commissioners discussed how the resolution could become adopted by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors.

d. Student Delegate Candidate Orientation
The Commissioners discussed the planned orientation for the candidates Student Delegate to the Board of Education. The Commissioners provided feedback on what staff should prepare for the orientation.

e. School-to-career update
Staff updated the Commission on resolution 0910AL03.

f. School Food Resolution
The Commission discussed Commissioner Jones’s proposed resolution regarding school food in the San Francisco Unified School District. Members of the Student Advisory Council present at the meeting stated they would take the resolution to their organization to garner feedback.

g. Homework Report Update
Staff provided Commissioners with an update of the Homework Efficiency report.

h. Muni & Student Assignment
Commissioners agreed to not request a hearing on Muni and the San Francisco Unified School District’s assignment process.


6. Adjournment
Commissioner Jones adjourned the meeting at 5:58pm.
