1. Call to Order
Chair Davidson called the meeting to order at 5:15pm.
Commissioners present: Davidson, Deng, A. Chan, Williams

2. Approval of Agenda (Action Item)
Commissioner A. Chan moved to approve the agenda, seconded by Deng. The agenda was approved unanimously by acclamation.

3. Approval of Minutes (Action Item)
Commissioner Williams moved to approve the minutes to the Health & Wellness committee meetings of December 16 and December 21, 2009, seconded by Deng. The minutes were approved unanimously by acclamation.

4. Public Comment on Items not on Agenda
There was none.

5. Old Business

A. Discussion and Possible Action: Training by health educators from Health Initiatives for Youth (HIFY) concerning best practices in:
a. Health Education
b. Sex Education
c. Relevant laws and policies concerning health and sex education, especially related to how these things are (and are not!) taught in the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD)

Carnleius Quinn and Tina Mahle, Program Manager and Trainer, respectively, at Health Initiatives for Youth (HIFY) provided commissioners with a training concerning best practices in health education, paying close attention to California state law.
