Health and Wellness Committee Minutes

City Hall, Room 345

There will be public comment on each item.

1. Call to Order

Chair Davidson called the meeting to order at 5:16pm.

Commissioners present: Davidson, Liang, A. Chan, Deng

Staff Present: Mario Yedidia

2. Approval of Agenda (Action Item)

Commissioners Liang motioned to approve the agenda, seconded by A. Chan. The agenda was approved unanimously by acclamation.

3. Approval of Minutes (Action Item)

Commissioners Liang motioned to approve the minutes, seconded by A. Chan. The agenda was approved unanimously by acclamation.

4. Public Comment on Items not on Agenda

There was none.

5. Business (All items to follow include Discussion and possible action)

A. Discussion of writing resolutions: the committee discussed what a resolution is: a formal declaration/explanation of a problem and suggestions about how to fix that problem.

B. Discussion regarding various issues that affect San Francisco youth (nutrition; recycling/composting; LGBTQ equity; teen dating violence; Tobacco reduction; health care/health coverage.

Commissioner Davidson led the group in a discussion about the upcoming forum/hearing/event that the Health and Wellness committee is going to organize and put on.

The committee decided that they would probably focus on dating violence for this forum.

C. Research on Resolutions, Projects: Commissioners did some research on the issues that they want to work on.

6. Adjournment

Chair Davidson adjourned the meeting at 6:46pm.
