1.   Call to Order and Roll Call
The meeting was called to order at 6:15 PM.  Present:  Vitaly, Chen, DeVries, Lamo, Michaels, Robertson, Rothman, Slozberg, Turner (9) Excused: Butler, Otalvarro-Hormillosa, Ozoa,  Prozan, Rodgers, (5) Absent: Kutner (1) Non Voting Members present: Molly Ingraham, Michael Johnson

2.  Approval of Agenda: Seconded and approved
 
3.  Approval of Minutes October 22, 1998 and November 18, 1998:  Seconded and approved.
 
4.  New Business:

    D.  Presentation by Paul Van Houten and Christian Griffith of the Department of Human Services (Recordings of this presentation are available for the public).  This presentation focused on the structure of DHS, important people that the Task Force may want to talk with and an overview of the budget process and how we can best advocate for increased LGBTQQ funding.
    B.  Discussion and possible action re: Queer Youth Shelter.  Task Force members discussed work around recommendation number 43, developing a shelter specifically for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Questioning youth.  Supervisors Ammiano, Katz, Leno and Newsom have all expressed interest and support for such a shelter.  The Task Force decided to pull together a meeting of interested individuals in the next couple of weeks to discuss the possibility and feasibility of the shelter idea.

    C.  Discussion and possible action re: Working Groups.  Task Force members broke up into working groups and discussed action steps to be taken.  Update:
    Juvenile Justice- The Juvenile Justice working group is planning a focus group with young people who have been in the Juvenile Justice sytem previously.  The focus group will be Saturday, December 12, from 1-3pm at LYRIC.
    Family/Housing/Shelter- Their first priority is the Queer Youth Shelter.  They will be working to pull together a meeting of interested individuals from the community to begin work.
    Youth and Schools-  They reported having a difficult time deciding where to start since the school system is so big.  They will be scheduling a meeting with Kevin Gogin, our non voting member with the school system to discuss strategies.
    Youth Services- They are researching the Mayor's Office of Children, Youth and their Families to determine where funds spent of LGBTQQ youth are being spent.
    Health and Mental Health- No report at this time.

5.  Announcements
  Next meeting will be December 9th, from 6-8pm in Room 322, at 401 Van Ness Avenue.
