5. Staff Report/Update on Communications, etc.

Commissioner Yang then led her colleagues through a “rose and thorn” session, where each committee member and staff shared a “rose”—that is, a positive thing—and a thorn—namely, a negative thing—in their life in the past weeks.

A. Updates on Executive Officer Duties

Commissioner Bonner told her colleagues that there had been no legislation introduced in the last few weeks at the Board of Supervisors that needed to be referred to the Board of Supervisors. She also reminded her colleagues that she would post to the Youth Commission Facebook page the link to the legislation introduced at the Board of Supervisors each week.
b. Community Outreach Officer
Commissioner Brodwin told her colleagues that she had spoken with most of the members of the Youth Commission with regard to their outreach plan for the year.
c. Media and Community Relations Officer
Commissioner Tu Mutch related to her colleagues that, despite only modest increases in the “likes” on the Youth Commission’s Facebook page, she was pleased with the communications she’s had with Youth Commissioners regarding implementing the Media and Public Relations Plan.
