  1. Discussion and possible action re: Referral file #060427 (Sandoval), requesting a hearing on the Recreation and Park’s Department’s project to build a new Minnie and Lovie Ward Recreation Center.

Discussion and possible action re: Referral file #060428 (Sandoval), requesting a hearing of the San Francisco Department of Public Health and the Office of Emergency Services to prepare for a potential outbreak of pandemic flu or similar large-scale public health crisis involving communicable diseases.
  3. Discussion and possible action re: Referral file #060453 (Maxwell), resolution authoring DCYF to accept and expend a grant in the amount of $24,993 from the California Endowment to conduct Strategic Planning for the Childhood Nutrition and Physical Activity Task Force.

Discussion and possible action re: Referral file #060431 (Alioto-Pier), resolution imposing interim zoning controls establishing a requirement for conditional use authorization for a change in use of any elementary or secondary school, including, where permissible, lots under the jurisdiction of the San Francisco School District, for an eighteen month period and making a determination of consistency with the priorities policies of Planning Code Section 101.1
  2. Discussion and possible action re: File #060394 (Mirkarimi, Daly), ordinance appropriating $660,000 of unappropriated General Fund to maintain operations of the John Swett Alternative School through the Department of Children, Youth and Their Families for Fiscal Year 2005-06.
  3. Discussion and possible action re: File #060261 (Alioto-Pier), Charter Amendment (First Draft) to amend Sections 8.100, 13.101, and 13.102, add Section 13.111, to provide for district elections, term limits, and instant runoff voting for members of the Board of Education, add Sections 16.123-6A and 16.123-6B, to require the San Francisco Unified School District to submit a mission statement and five-year strategic plan and to participate with the Board of Supervisors in an inter-agency review board on school openings, mergers, relocations and closures, as a condition of receiving money from the Public Education Enrichment Fund.

ACCESSIBLE MEETING POLICY

The Youth Commission meeting will be held in City Hall Room 416 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place, San Francisco, CA. The closest accessible BART station is the Civic Center Station at the United Nations Plaza and Market Street. Accessible MUNI lines serving this location are: MUNI Metro Lines J-Church, K-Ingleside, L-Taraval, M-Oceanview, and N-Judah at Van Ness and Civic Center Stations; 42-Downtown Loop; 9-San Bruno; 19-Polk; and 71-Haight Noriega. The Commission meeting room is wheelchair accessible. Accessible curbside parking spaces have been designated on the corners of McAllister and Polk, and Grove and Polk. There is accessible parking available within the Civic Center Underground Parking Garage at the corner of McAllister and Polk Streets, and within the Performing Arts Parking Garage at Grove and Franklin Streets.

If you require the use of an American sign language interpreter, a sound enhancement system, or a reader during the meeting, Calendars and minutes of the meeting in alternative formats; such arrangements can be made by calling (415) 554-6446, at least 72 hours prior to the meeting. Late requests will be honored if possible.
