- Staff Report:
Diana passed out the current calendar of events and forms for housekeeping and record retention.
Rachel reminded folks of opportunity to apply for public policy conference at Princeton.
Kevin informed Commissioners on health insurance eligibility and invited them to skateboarding celebration at Golden Gate Park this Saturday.

A) Presentations: Youth Issues Commissioner Projects 101 (info/action):
Action - Gong will serve as YC representative to the Mayor's Office of Housing ad-hoc committee improve/expand transitional housing for marginally housed or homeless youth. He will seek YC and Transitional Youth Task Force feedback in what an ideal housing situation for young adults would look like.
Action - Shamonda is exploring SOMA/Tenderloin residential plight in housing/home ownership mismanagement. She will be meeting with a local community leader this week and asks for YC support on an as needed basis. B) Presentation: Sunshine Ordinance and Open Government (info) --- -- Mariam Morley (City Attorney's Office) provided a presentation on the overview of city government, ethics compliance, sunshine ordinance, and Youth Commission's work and purview.
C) Presentation/discussion: Gang Injunctions -- (info/action) – Roberto Alfaro and Roberto Gonzalez (CARECEN) presented community opposition regarding the pending City Attorney civil gang injunctions for the Mission and Western Addition. They shared the legal ramifications and civil liberties violations against youth and persons identified. Save the Date -- Tuesday, September 18th, 9AM, 400 McAllister, Hearing and press conference to determine if courts will order injunctions and/or loosen the restrictions.

D) Presentation: Youth Empowerment Fund Advisory Board Alicia Yang from DCYF provided an interactive overview of the Youth Empowerment Fund, its achievements, and grantees. YEFAB will be focusing on impact and evaluation of its funds, and on developing mini-strategy sessions and town halls to motivate youth in creating sustainable, policy-oriented change. She seeks to collaborate with four Commissioners this term.
E) Committee Planning/Planning on Summer Projects
Action - Continued to September 17 meeting
F) Bylaws - Committee Structure/Officer Roles -- Staff provided an overview of the leadership structure and officer roles. Action- Officer statements due on Wed., September 12th; September 17this officer elections.
G) Agenda Requests from Chair – Staff handed out a procedure for agenda requests for the Full Commission meeting.Action - Agenda requests due on Wednesday at noon before the full commission meetings.
