3. Public Comment (This is chance for people to give their thoughts on youth issues, feed back to the Commission or any other comments. Each member of the public has the same number of minutes to speak.)

A) Discussion and possible action re: A hearing with representatives from the Youth Commission, Board of Supervisors, Police Department, Juvenile Probation Department, District Attorney’s Office, Public Defender, and Office of Citizen’s Complaints on the Impact of Proposition 21 on youth in San Francisco and how city departments will respond. Committee members will continue planning the content and format of a joint hearing which would address what city policy is around Proposition 21. Recommendations from this hearing could help create new department policies, legislation and a Juvenile Justice Task Force to monitor the city’s response.

B) Discussion and possible action re: Media outreach and preparing media spokespeople on juvenile justice issues, and doing outreach in preparation for the hearing.

C) Discussion and possible action re: Preparing an educational presentation and handouts for the hearing that will address upcoming juvenile justice projects.

D) Discussion and possible action re: Setting Next Meeting’s Agenda.
