The Special Meeting was called to order at 1:13 p.m.

Present:

President Kate Favetti

Commissioner Mary Y. Jung

E. Dennis Normandy

Not Present:

Vice President Scott R. Heldfond (Notified Absence)

President Kate Favetti presided.

II.

Public Comment on all matters appearing on the Special Meeting Agenda Session.

None.

III.

Vote on whether to hold closed session pursuant to California Government Code Section 54957 (b) (1) and San Francisco Administrative Code 67.10 (b) – Personnel Matter – Public Employee appointment – Executive Officer  (File No. 0161-12-1)

Action:

The Commission voted to conduct closed session.  (Vote of 3-0)

A)

PUBLIC EMPLOYEE APPOINTMENT – EXECUTIVE OFFICER (Discussion and Possible Action Item)

Closed Session started at 1:07 p.m. in City Hall, Room 34 and the following were present:

Kate Favetti, President, CSC

Mary Y. Jung, Commissioner, CSC

E. Dennis Normandy, Commissioner, CSC

Sandra Eng, Acting Executive Officer, CSC

Lizzette Henríquez, Personnel Technician, CSC

Closed Session ended at 1:23 p.m.

IV.

Reconvened in open session at 1:24 p.m.

Action:

A)

The Commission voted to disclose the following action from its closed session (San Francisco Administrative Code Section 67.12 (a)) (Vote of 3 to 0)

B)

It was the decision of the Commission to appoint Jennifer Johnston as the new Executive Officer, CSC.

Speakers:

Jennifer Johnston, thanked the Commission for the opportunity and commented on how delighted she is to work with the Civil Service Commission and Department.
