    In memory of American Armed Service Members who have made the ultimate sacrifice in all wars and conflicts, plus the passing of homeless veterans and veterans who died while waiting approval of benefits requests and suicides within the veterans and armed services community.

Veterans Affairs Commission Meetings:
General meetings of the SFVAC are scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every month, with the exception for the month of July, when there is no scheduled SF VAC meeting, and are held in Room 416 in City Hall.

Meeting confirmation, and specific announcement of general meetings are made via public posting of the Meeting Agenda as required by law, at least 72 hours prior to scheduled meetings. Agendas for SFVAC meetings (and archived meeting minutes) are available on the SFVAC Pages of the City of San Francisco website, and are also available for public view and inspection at the 5th Floor Government Information Center at the San Francisco Public Library, at 100 Larkin Street, San Francisco, CA 94102. San Francisco Veterans Day Parade
Sunday Nov 13, 2016
The San Francisco Veterans Day Parade is Sunday, Nov 13, 2016 at 11 AM in Fisherman's Wharf. Steps off at Embarcadero at North Point Street.

Rededication of the SF Vietnam Veterans Memorial
Ceremony will be at 4 pm on Veterans Day, November 11, in the lobby of the SF Veterans Building, 401 Van Ness (@McAllister, across from City Hall). Originally installed on a short pedestal at the foot of Market Street, it has now been moved to a more appropriate location inside the SF War Memorial Veterans Building. In addition, the bronze memorial has been recast to include the names of five additional San Francisco men who were killed in the Vietnam War, for a new total of 168.

Not Alone: Exploring Bonds Between and With Members of the Armed Forces November 9, 2016 - March 4, 2017, Artists' Reception: Friday, November 18, 6 - 8 p.m. Free and open to the public. Commissioner Bill Barnickel has been working with the Institute of Aging, Dept. of Justice, Attorney General's office and many more agencies in dealing with Veterans Abuse in Care Homes. There will be a rally about this program on Nov 10th at 1:00 front steps of City Hall-Polk Street side with California Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones, Mayor Lee, Commissioner Barnickel, and a few other speakers.
