Complete street design for Polk Street to be displayed at March 26 open house
MEDIA RELEASE
SAN FRANCISCO – There will be an open house on March 26th to unveil the final conceptual design for the Polk Streetscape Project, a collaborative effort with the San Francisco Planning Department, San Francisco Public Works and the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency.
This project has developed a streetscape design that will improve pedestrian safety, mobility for cyclists and transit riders, and support overall commercial activity along Polk Street. The enhancements, which span from McAllister Street to Union Street, include improved lighting, curb extensions, alley improvements, landscaping, improved bicycle facilities and repaving.
The final streetscape design recommendations build on the transportation safety recommendations released by the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency in 2013. Funding for the planning and construction of this project was allocated from the 2011 Road Repaving and Streets Safety Bond.
WHEN: Wednesday, March 26, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. (drop-in)
WHERE: Tenderloin Elementary School auditorium
