PUBLICATION ANNOUNCEMENT

The Planning Department is pleased to release our report on Family Friendly Housing. The report looks at the demographics of families with children in San Francisco and projected population changes. It also presents data on the composition of the existing housing stock and recent residential construction trends. The report addresses both design recommendations for new housing, which are based on a survey of other cities’ best practices, and also ways in which we might be able to better accommodate families in our existing housing. This report concludes with a handful of recommended next steps. This report is a starting point for ongoing conversations about how to meet the diverse needs of families with children.
