CULTURAL HERITAGE ASSETS DISCUSSION.  The Cultural Heritage Assets Committee of the Historic Preservation Commission began holding monthly hearings last December. The purpose of the hearings is to provide a discussion forum for topics related to cultural heritage preservation. The March hearing will include a presentation by Regina Dick-Endrizzi from the Mayor’s Office of Small Business about the recently established Legacy Business program. The hearing will also provide an opportunity for members of the public to contribute to a growing list of businesses, community organizations, and neighborhoods institutions that deserve recognition and protection. PRESENTERS:     Regina Dick-Endrizzi, Director of the Office of Small Business - Brief history and overview of the Legacy Business Program.

SPEAKERS:          + Desiree Smith, SF Heritage - View the Legacy Business Registry as top priority; focusing on what financial incentives in the trailing legislation would work.

 

COMMISSIONERS:

                              The Committee would like to work with the Small Business Commission to develop register criteria, incentives, and marketing tools for the Legacy Business program. The goal would be to send recommendations to the SBC before September 30, 2015. The Committee asked to be included in the SBC’s survey of small businesses concerning the goals of the Legacy Business program.

 

                             The Committee reviewed their upcoming schedule and discussed the possibility of meeting with community groups over the summer.
