A. July 2013 Minutes

The Committee reviewed the draft July 17, 2013 Minutes.

II. REPORTS
A. Mayor’s HOPE Office
Deputy Director of HOPE, Amanda Kahn Fried, provided an update from her office.

The Committee reviewed the vacancy reports.

C. Standard of Care Report
The Committee reviewed the Standard of Care report.
No public comment

III. PUBLIC COMMENT
Cynthia Lee said that she had asked management at Next Door to include a voluntary form that would allow staff to contact a client’s primary provider if needed. Dr. Lee said that the Mayor’s Office on Disability said that the form and concept was a good idea.

IV. OLD BUSINESS
A. Legislative Subcommittee
Vice Chair Dennis reviewed the discussions of the SOC legislative subcommittee.

B. Family Shelter Wait list
The Committee reviewed draft letter to HSA regarding the family shelter wait list.

Committee Members Morimoto and Ward asked to be excused from the vote.

C. Election of Secretary
Committee Member Steen said that he would assume the role as Secretary.

B. United Council’s Shelter Proposal
The Committee discussed the shelter being proposed in the Bayview. The Committee decided to wait to hear back from the Mayor’s Office on Hope before taking action, but brainstormed about attending community meetings and writing a letter to the media in support of the shelter.

The Committee reviewed the updated Policies and Procedures.

Accessible curbside parking is available on Oak and Hickory Streets.

The ringing of and use of cell phones, pagers, and similar sound producing electronic devices are prohibited at this meeting. Please be advised that the Chair may order the removal from the meeting room of any person(s) responsible for the ringing or use of a cell phone, pager or other similar sound-producing electronic devices.
In order to assist the City’s efforts to accommodate persons with severe allergies, environmental illness, multiple chemical sensitivity or related disabilities, attendees at public meetings are reminded that other attendees maybe sensitive to various chemical based scented projects.
