Human Service Agency (HSA) Report
Committee Member Cindy Ward reviewed the June 2013 Shelter Vacancy Report, the June 2013 Hamilton Emergency Turn Away Report, and the Connecting Point Waiting List.

The Committee reviewed the SOC report.

III. PUBLIC COMMENT
Dr. Cynthia Lee said that there were reasonable accommodation issues at Next Door. She said that staff have lost and/or not acknowledged several of her requests going back to June 17, 2013. She suggested that people use a log to bring food into shelter for people with disabilities who need dietary accommodations.

A. Legislative Subcommittee
Vice Chair Dennis reviewed the discussions of the SOC legislative subcommittee.

The Committee continued the item to the August 2013 meeting.

A. Election of Secretary
No Committee Member asked to be considered for the secretary position. The item was continued to the August 2013 meeting.

Marlon Mendieta from Dolores Street said that HOPE & Dolores are working together to get the LGBT shelter up and running. He said there will be a Planning Commission hearing on August 15, 2013 which will address the LGBT shelter plans. Dolores Street will perform outreach to community members.

The ringing of and use of cell phones, pagers, and similar sound producing electronic devices are prohibited at this meeting.  Please be advised that the Chair may order the removal from the meeting room of any person(s) responsible for the ringing or use of a cell phone, pager or other similar sound-producing electronic devices.
