8. Consent Calendar

All items hereunder constitute a Consent Calendar. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a Commissioner so requests. In that event, the item will be removed from the Consent Calendar and considered as a separate item immediately following the vote on the rest of the items.

  1. Referral from the Board of Supervisors, File 040351: Resolution authorizing the Office of the Public Defender to accept and expend a grant in the amount of $120,000 from the Zellerbach Family Foundation for a social worker position dedicated to working with the children of incarcerated parents (CIP).

  2. Referral from the Board of Supervisors, File 040471: Resolution supporting AB 2863 and urging the California legislature to pass AB 2863 allowing for the improvement of indoor air quality in our schools.

  3. Referral from the Board of Supervisors, File 040472: Resolution supporting AB 2367 (Chan) and AB 2132 (Reyes/Chan) and urging the California legislature to pass the two legislation allowing children in schools with Asthma easier access to their medication.

  4. Referral fromt he Board of Supervisors, File 040482: Resolution authorizing the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice (MOCJ) to accept and expend funds in the amount of $2,218,010 from the State Board of Corrections, from funds made available under Senate Bill 736 – known as the Juvenile Justice Crime Prevention Act (JJCPA), for programs and approaches that have been demonstrated to be effective in reducing delinquency.

The Youth Commission meeting will be held in City Hall, Room 416 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place, San Francisco, CA. The closest accessible BART station is the Civic Center Station at the United Nations Plaza and Market Street. Accessible MUNI lines serving this location are: MUNI Metro Lines J-Church, K-Ingleside, L-Taraval, M-Oceanview, and N-Judah at Van Ness and Civic Center Stations; 42-Downtown Loop; 9-San Bruno; 19-Polk; and 71-Haight Noriega. The Commission meeting room is wheelchair accessible. Accessible curbside parking spaces have been designated on the corners of McAllister and Polk, and Grove and Polk. There is accessible parking available within the Civic Center Underground Parking Garage at the corner of McAllister and Polk Streets, and within the Performing Arts Parking Garage at Grove and Franklin Streets.

If you require the use of an American sign language interpreter, a sound enhancement system, or a reader during the meeting, Calendars and minutes of the meeting in alternative formats; such arrangements can be made by calling Ron S.
