1. Call to Order and Roll Call

The Chair called the meeting to order at 5:43 pm.

Present: Chair Kennelly, Commissioner Fuentes, Commissioner Price

Not Present: Vice Chair Gaime, Commissioner Maldonado, Commissioner Paz

Staff: Clerk Jamie Richardson, Policy Analyst Kraig Cook.

 

2. Public Comment

There was no public comment.

 

3. Action Item: Approval of previous minutes

  1. Approval of July 23, 2015 Executive Committee Meeting Minutes
  2. Approval of September 23, 2015 Executive Committee Meeting Minutes 

The Executive Committee could not approve the Meeting Minutes from July 23, 2015 and September 23, 2015 due to a lack of quorum. 

 

4. Action Items:

  1. Neighborhood Meeting & Hearing Planning

(Information/Discussion/Action)

Mr. Cook updated the Executive Committee on the outreach efforts for the upcoming District 8 Neighborhood Meeting on November 9, 2015 and shared the confirmed list of speakers for the meeting. OCEIA has publicized this meeting on social media, but he encouraged the committee to follow up and share the posts within their networks to get the word out. The Chair confirmed that Supervisor Scott Wiener has been invited to address his constituents and make opening remarks.

Ms. Richardson informed the committee that meeting’s room location changed to the Rainbow Room, at the LGBTQ Community Center and interpretation services will be available to those who request it. 

  1. Annual Report

Chair Kennelly informed the committee that her and Vice Chair Gaime have met and shared notes on the Annual Report. She will announce further updates at the Full Commission Meeting.

  1. Consular Corps Event

(Information/Discussion/Action)

Commissioner Fuentes noted that most Central and South American Consulates travel in December, and that this should be considered when planning a Consular Corps Roundtable. The Chair suggested all commissioners share their December availability at the Full Commission Meeting on November 9, 2015, where a decision can be made.

 

5. New Business

Commissioner Fuentes invited everyone to attend or volunteer at the next Citizenship Workshop on Saturday, December 5, 2015.  Mr. Cook added that staff will send out a new URL link for volunteer registration to the Commission.

 

6. Old Business

Commissioner Price stated that she will finish a letter to the Mayor asking him to fulfill his duty of appointing people to the three vacant seats on the Commission.

 

7. Adjournment

The Chair adjourned the meeting at 6:12 pm.
