A.     Executive Director's Report                                      Executive Director Murase              Explanatory document: The Executive Director’s Report discusses the work of the Department based on the Commission’s Strategic Plan which reflects the principles of the U.N. Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). 

                                                        

IV.    CONSENT AGENDA                                                             DISCUSSION/ACTION         10 min.

 All matters listed hereunder constitute a Consent Agenda and are considered to be routine by the Commission on the Status of Women.  They will be acted upon by a single roll call vote of the Commission.  There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a member of the Commission so requests, in which event the matter shall be removed from the Consent Agenda and considered as a separate item.  Members of the public may speak on each item listed on the Consent Agenda.

V.           OLD BUSINESS                                                                     DISCUSSION

 

A.     Strategic Plan Update                                                 Executive Director Emily Murase     10 min.

Dr. Emily Murase will provide an overview of progress to date on the Commission's Strategic Plan.

 

VI.        NEW BUSINESS       

 

A.     InternationalMuseum of Women Presentation                                                                    15 min.

Clare Winterton, Executive Director of the International Museum of Women, will update the Commission on its exhibits and activities.

 

B.     Appointments Accountability Ordinance                                                                               10 min.

A board member of the San Francisco Women's Political Committee will present information about the Appointments Accountability Ordinance that has been introduced at the Board of Supervisors. This proposed ordinance arose from the Commission's gender analysis of City Boards and Commissions to monitor the diversity of appointments.

 

Action:  To support the Appointments Accountability Ordinance

This item is to allow members of the public to comment generally on matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for Commission’s future consideration.
