A.     Executive Director's Report                                     

Explanatory document: The Executive Director’s Report discusses the work of the Department based on the Commission’s Strategic Plan which reflects the principles of the U.N. Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).  *Executive Director Murase will be at the United Nations this week.  Acting Department Head Carol Sacco will be available to answer any questions about the Report. 

 

B.           Report from Eugene, Oregon

Policy Director Ann Lehman will report on the human rights training that she and Senior Policy Analyst Anu Menon conducted in Eugene, Oregon.

 All matters listed hereunder constitute a Consent Agenda and are considered to be routine by the Commission on the Status of Women.  They will be acted upon by a single roll call vote of the Commission.  There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a member of the Commission so requests, in which event the matter shall be removed from the Consent Agenda and considered as a separate item.  Members of the public may speak on each item listed on the Consent Agenda.

John St. Croix, Executive Director of the Ethics Commission, will provide an overview of Commissioner roles. 

 

2.      President Gulbengay will lead a discussion about Commissioner duties.

Action:  To include Commissioner reports at Commission meetings on a regular basis.

This item is to allow members of the public to comment generally on matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for Commission’s future consideration.

Adjourn the meeting in the memory of Bob Zimmerman, the late husband of Policy Director Ann Lehman, and in memory of the late Commissioner Carolene Mark.
