III. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S REPORT DISCUSSION/ACTION

A. Executive Director's Report 5 min.
Explanatory document: The Executive Director’s Report discusses the work of the Department based on the Commission’s Strategic Plan which reflects the principles of the U.N. Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).

B. Social Media Strategy 10 min.
PAAWBAC Fellow Helen Lei and Graduate Intern Stephanie Taube will provide an overview of the social media strategies for the Department.

IV. CONSENT AGENDA DISCUSSION/ACTION 10 min.
All matters listed hereunder constitute a Consent Agenda and are considered to be routine by the Commission on the Status of Women. They will be acted upon by a single roll call vote of the Commission. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a member of the Commission so requests, in which event the matter shall be removed from the Consent Agenda and considered as a separate item. Members of the public may speak on each item listed on the Consent Agenda.

A. Institute on Aging – New Senior Center 15 min.
David Weingarden will provide information on the IOA Senior Center.

B. United Way by the Bay 15 min.
Shani Ahearn will provide an overview of the United Way of the Bay’s Women’s Leadership Network which has been convened as part of a new poverty alleviation initiative.

VI. OLD BUSINESS DISCUSSION/ACTION

A. Election of Officers President Kay Gulbengay 10 min.
The Commission will elected a President and Vice President for FY11-12 for a one-year term beginning July 1,
2010. Commissioner Kay Gulbengay and Commissioner Julie Soo have been nominated for President and Vice
President, respectively.

Action: To reelect Kay Gulbengay as President of the Commission for FY11-12.
Action: To reelect Julie Soo as Vice President of the Commission for FY11-12.

VII. PUBLIC COMMENT DISCUSSION 5 min.
This item is to allow members of the public to comment generally on matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for Commission’s future consideration.
