III. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S REPORT DISCUSSION
A. Executive Director's Report 10 min.
Explanatory document: The Executive Director’s Report discusses the work of the Department based on the Commission’s Strategic Plan which reflects the principles of the U.N. Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).
1. Healthy Mother’s Workplace Update 10 min.
Julia Parrish from the Legal Aid Society will provide an overview of the new awards program.
2. Gender Analysis of the Department on the Status of Women 5 min.
Graduate Policy Fellow Christine Wagner will provide a brief presentation on the 2013 Gender Analysis of the Department on the Status of Women
IV. CONSENT AGENDA DISCUSSION/ACTION 30 min.
All matters listed hereunder constitute a Consent Agenda and are considered to be routine by the Commission on the Status of Women. They will be acted upon by a single roll call vote of the Commission. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a member of the Commission so requests, in which event the matter shall be removed from the Consent Agenda and considered as a separate item. Members of the public may speak on each item listed on the Consent Agenda.

V. NEW BUSINESS
A. Women Veterans DISCUSSION
1. Local Services and Support 10 min.
Iraq War veteran Star Lara with Swords to Plowshares will provide an overview of the unique needs of women veterans and available services.
2. Veteran’s Affairs Commission 10 min
Dottie Guy, Chair of the Women’s Caucus for the San Francisco Veteran’s Affairs Commission and the Women Veteran Outreach Coordinator for the Oakland Veteran Center, will present an overview of the Commission’s work as it relates to women veterans.
B. Nomination of Officers for 2013-2014 DISCUSSION/ACTION 12 min.
President Soo will entertain nominations for President and Vice President of the Commission for 2013-2014. The election will take place at the July 24 Commission meeting.
Action: To nominate candidates for President and Vice President for 2013-2014.
VI. REPORTS DISCUSSION 20 min.
Commissioners can report on activities related to the work of the Commission.
VII. PUBLIC COMMENT DISCUSSION 5 min.
This item is to allow members of the public to comment generally on matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for Commission’s future consideration.
