1. San Francisco Police Department 5 min.
Captain Antonio Parra of the San Francisco Police Department has been invited to provide an update on efforts to improve data collection and reporting.

2. Child Abuse Intervention Program 5 min.
Kathy Baxter will report on a meeting with Public Health Director Barbara Garcia regarding a pilot program for convicted child abusers.

3. Updates on Comprehensive Centers 5 min.

a. Elder Abuse Forensic Center
Dr. Erica Falk of the Institute on Aging will provide an update.

b. Child Advocacy Center
Kathy Baxter, Chair of the Child Abuse Prevention Council, will provide an update.

4. Batterers Intervention Programs 5 min.
Per the last meeting, this has become a standing report in the agenda. Antonio Ramirez will provide an update.

5. Department of Children, Youth, and Their Families 5 min.
Veronica Martinez will provide an update on the effort to revise the City’s Violence Prevention Plan.

6. 2011 Comprehensive Report on Family Violence in San Francisco 5 min.
Council members will report on the June 2 hearing before the Board of Supervisors Public Safety Committee.

Beverly Upton will provide an update.

Dr. Murase will review staffing reductions at the Department.

C. Secure Communities: Presentation & Discussion DISCUSSION 30 min.
Katherine Ray, MSW Candidate at the UC Berkeley School of Social Work will brief the Council on preliminary findings of her research on the impact of the federal Secure Communities policy.

This item is to allow members of the public to comment, for a maximum of 2 minutes each, on matters within the Council’s purview, as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Council’s future consideration.
