Ms. Roberts will provide an update on housing issues related to domestic violence survivors.

Ms. Upton will provide an update on the proposed elimination of $16 million in state funding for domestic violence shelters and a new effort to raise marriage license fees to increase resources for domestic violence shelters.

Ms. Upton will provide an update on any current domestic violence cases that require attention or support.

A.    Probationer’s Study                                                Nnena Ukuku
Ms. Ukuku will present the findings from the probationer’s study, Study of Domestic Violence Probation in San Francisco which examined completion rates for the domestic violence program and domestic violence probation.   

B.    “Bridges to Freedom”                                            Marshall
Ms. Marshall will present information on the collaboration between the Department on the Status of Women and the Office of Immigrant Affairs to train criminal justice personnel to respond to domestic violence calls in Chinese and Spanish.

This item allows members of the public to comment generally on matters within the Panel’s purview as well as to suggest agenda items for future consideration.

Justice and Courage Oversight Meeting

American Sign Language interpreters and a Sound Amplification System provided upon request with 48-hour advance notice to 415-252-2570. Translation into languages other than English is also available with 48-hour notice.
