CALL TO ORDER

Chair Tan called the meeting to order at 5:35PM.

Director, Jocelyn Kane called the Roll.

Present at the meeting were Commissioners, Bryant Tan, Al Perez, Steven Lee, Audrey Joseph, Demetri Moshoyannis.

2. Review and approve the minutes of May 5, 2015. [Action item]

Report from the Sound Inspector’s Sean Burke and Jordan Pauley report on recent venue sound inspections and report of activities by staff. [Discussion Item]

Inspector Pauley reported on the following:

INSPECTIONS:
5/8/2015 1:50 AM Bruno’s Pizzeria 1375 Fillmore St.: A summary inspection was performed at the venue at and after 2:00 a.m. The venue was suspected of operating after 2 a.m. without an extended hours permit. The complaint also criticized amplified sound that may be playing into the neighborhood. The venue was found in compliance. Will follow up.

COMPLIANCE:
5/17/2015 1:30AM The Cellar 685 Sutter St.: Talked to management about a new security plan they will be implementing. They’ve kept the top performers from the former security staff and have added a hand selected group of new security staff members.

5/16/2015 10:30PM 1015 Folsom 1015 Folsom St.: Talked to management about a permitted event they will be having on Wednesday, May 20th, 2015. The last time that they had a permitted event, our office received a complaint calling into question the validity of said permit. After quick inspection, it was determined that they were in compliance. Therefore, this time around, they wanted to be a good neighbor and let everyone know that they would be having another event that would include permitted sidewalk closure.

5/15/2015 11:00PM Fort 1 SF 2801 Leavenworth St.: Talked to management about their current permit situation. They’re in the process of finalizing their building/health/fire permits which is expected to be completed this week.

Initial sound test. 100dBC limit.

NEW COMPLAINTS
5/13/15 Delirium 3139 16th St
Residential sound test conducted. Not in violation.
5/13/15 Black Magic 1400 Lombard
Bass vibrating unit 2 floors above. Not EC purview.
5/19/15 Gallardo’s Mexican Restaurant 3248 18th St. Live music reported. Under investigation.
4. Police Department Comments & Questions. [Discussion Item]
(This item allows any member of the SFPD to address the Commission regarding matters related to nightlife and public safety).

No police comments were made.

5. Hearing and Possible Action regarding applications for permits under the jurisdiction of the Entertainment Commission. [Action item]

a) EC-1325 David Kiely dba Mars Bar, 798 Brannan St. Limited Live Performance permit.

7. New Business Request for Future Agenda Items. [Action item] (This item is to allow Commissioners to introduce agenda items for future consideration).

Commissioner Joseph asked about a committee to talk about process for the Breed legislation.

Chair Tan stated he would draft something for staff and will get back to the entire commission.

Commissioner Moshoyannis asked if the August strategic planning meeting has been decided on.

Executive Director Kane stated since the commissioners were present they could select a day. Saturday, August 22, 2015 was selected for the meeting.
