2. Approval of Meeting Minutes. Discussion and possible action to approve the minutes of the November 2, 2021 Commission meetings. [Discussion and Possible Action Item

MOTION: Vice President Caminong motioned to approve the meeting minutes; Commissioner Lee seconded the motion.

 

ACTION: The Commission approved the November 2, 2021 meeting minutes.  

 

AYES: President Bleiman, Vice President Caminong, Commissioner Falzon, Commissioner Lee, and Commissioner Thomas.

 

NAYS: None

3. Report from Executive Director: Hold for any announcements. Legislative/Policy Update: none; Staff and Office Update: none; Update on Board of Appeals Actions: none; Corrective Actions: none. [Discussion Item]

4. Report from Deputy Director: Deputy Director Kaitlyn Azevedo reports on recent enforcement activities. [Discussion Item]

5. Update on Implementation of Small Business Recovery Act and Shared Spaces Legislation: Executive Director Maggie Weiland shares an update on the Entertainment Commission’s implementation of the Small Business Recovery Act (BOS File No. 210285) and Shared Spaces Legislation (BOS File No. 210284). [Discussion Item]

Discussion and possible action to adopt Commission versus Administrative Review criteria for making a determination on One Time Event permit applications with outdoor amplified sound and/or outdoor entertainment and requesting extended duration per Article 15.1 of the Police Code (BOS File No. 210285). [Discussion and Possible Action Item]

Public Comment: None

MOTION: Commissioner Thomas motioned to adopt staff recommended Commission versus Administrative Review criteria for making a determination on One Time Event permit applications with outdoor amplified sound and/or outdoor entertainment and requesting extended duration per Article 15.1 of the Police Code; Commissioner Lee seconded the motion.

 

ACTION: The Commission adopted staff recommended Commission versus Administrative Review criteria for making a determination on One Time Event permit applications with outdoor amplified sound and/or outdoor entertainment and requesting extended duration per Article 15.1 of the Police Code

 

AYES: President Bleiman, Vice President Caminong, Commissioner Falzon, Commissioner Lee, and Commissioner Thomas.

7. Hearing and Possible Action regarding applications for permits under the jurisdiction of the Entertainment Commission. [Discussion and Possible Action Item] 

Regular Agenda:

 

a) EC-1614 - Meiyu Chen and Ting Ting Tan of PaoPao dba Underground Grill King, 2543 Noriega St, Place of Entertainment – change in ownership permit application.
 

Public Comment: None
 

MOTION: Vice President Caminong made a motion to approve the Place of Entertainment permit with staff recommendations; Commissioner Thomas seconded the motion.

 

ACTION: The Commission approved the Place of Entertainment permit.  

 

AYES: President Bleiman, Vice President Caminong, Commissioner Falzon, Commissioner Lee, and Commissioner Thomas.

 

NAYS: None

 

8. Consideration and possible action to adopt a resolution making findings to allow teleconferenced meetings under California Government Code Section 54953(e). [Discussion and Possible Action Item]

 

Public Comment: None

 

MOTION: Commissioner Thomas made a motion to adopt the resolution; Vice President Caminong seconded the motion.

 

ACTION: The Commission adopted the resolution making findings to allow teleconferenced meetings.  

 

AYES: President Bleiman, Vice President Caminong, Commissioner Falzon, Commissioner Lee, and Commissioner Thomas.

 

NAYS: None
