	CALL TO ORDER
Vice Chair Laura Thomas called the meeting to order at 5:34PM.

2. Approval of Meeting Minutes.  Discussion and possible action to approve the minutes of September 19, 2017 Commission meeting. [Action Item]
	Commissioner Perez moved to approve the minutes of September 19, 2017 Commissioner Bleiman second the motion.

3. Report from Acting Director:
	Legislative/Policy Update: Nothing to Report; Staff and Office Update: Nothing to Report; Update on Board of Appeals Action: Nothing to Report; Corrective Actions: Nothing to Report. [Discussion Item]
Senior Analyst of Community & Cultural Events Dylan Rice stated the next out door mixer would be held and the panel is about preparing for inspections and the topic is called “Ask the Inspectors” and will be held at the Google community space on Monday October 23, 2017 from 1PM-3PM. He added Health, Fire, SFPD and Sound Inspector Sean Burke would be on the panel. He added it would be an opportunity for people who are newbies and veterans event producers to learn some best practices and hear updates on rules and processes as well as connect with their peers.

9/23/17 Email     This Never...   1 De Haro "There was a loud party in Nov 2016 and again today. There have been unpermitted events on going with loud music in between these events." - Under investigation.

9/28/17 311 Battery 717 Battery "Very loud concerts have been going on for the last two days" - spoke with complainant, who, at the time of the call, could no longer hear the ongoing event.
9/29/17 311 Double Dutch 3192 16th "on some nights and the noise level is over the top... music that can heard through the walls... extremely loud clientele that hangs out in the street… They keep the front door open... ongoing issue for the last 8 years."
9/29/17 311 SPiN 690 Folsom Newly renovated apartments above venue. Property manager is working with operator to address. In touch with operator & complainant to ensure compliance.

7. Hearing and Possible Action regarding applications for permits under the jurisdiction of the Entertainment Commission. [Action Item]

Regular Agenda:
a) EC-1422 – Muela, Carlos, SoMa StrEat Food Park, 428 11th St., Limited Live Performance Permit.
	Carlos Muela stated he was the owner of SOMA Steat Food Park and SPARKS Social SF.  He added they were a food truck park 7 days serving lunch and dinner.  He added the space was such a unique space that the last couple of year’s people have wanted to do fun and unique things at the venue. He added they have event managers and event coordinators at each site.   He added they have created a guide for each location he added all the site managers will be trained on the operations.

	Commissioner Lee moved to approve redacting item 3 of SFPD’s condition with the requirement to have sound test conducted by the Entertainment Commission set and a monthly calendar of events to be sent to the Entertainment Commission Commissioner Caminong second the motion

9.  Commissioner Comments & Questions. [Discussion Item]
	Commissioner Lee stated inquired about amplified sound limit.
	Sound Inspector Sean Burke stated it’s in the Police code for sound and that is what he would use to set the sound code. 
	Commissioner Thomas thanked Jennifer Johnston for her work assisting with the hiring of process for the Entertainment Commission Executive Director based on the conversation at the last meeting names have been forwarded to the Mayor who will choose the Director from the names on the list.  She added they were happy with the options they put forward.  She added they hope they would hear soon on the Mayor’s decision.   She added thanks to Commissioner Bleiman for providing his input on the selection process.
	Acting Director Maggie Weiland suggested the Good Neighbor Policy and the RDR policy be on the November agenda.
