COMMISSIONERS PRESENT:  Ben Bleiman, (President), Dori Caminong, (Vice President) Steven Lee, Laura Thomas, Dave Falzon, Cyn Wang.

 

COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Al Perez

2. Approval of Meeting Minutes.  Discussion and possible action to approve the minutes of the August 18, 2020 Commission meeting. [Discussion and Possible Action Item]

MOTION: Commissioner Falzon moved to approve the August 18, 2020 minutes, Commissioner Thomas seconded the motion.

 

ACTION: Approved Minutes for August 18, 2020.

 

AYES: Commissioner Caminong, Commissioner Thomas, Commissioner Bleiman, Commissioner Lee, Commissioner Falzon, Commissioner Wang

 

NAYS: None

 

ABSENT: Commissioner Perez

  1. Report from Executive Director: Legislative/Policy Update: on the City and County of San Francisco’s response to COVID-19 as it relates to the work of the Entertainment Commission; Staff and Office Update: Update on annual achievements, and update on Entertainment Commission move from City Hall to the new Permit Center building at 49 South Van Ness Avenue; Update on Board of Appeals Actions: none; Corrective Actions: none [Discussion Item]

Public Comment:

  1. Presentation on Queer Nightlife Support Efforts: Representatives from the San Francisco Queer Nightlife Industry Fund present on their efforts to provide resources and opportunities for queer nightlife workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. [Discussion Item]

PUBLIC COMMENT:

= Drea Meyer is an event producer and the 2020 Leadership SF Program of the   Chamber of Commerce.  She feels for the overall mental health and well-being of society. People need other human interaction and feels it is necessary to help boost the small businesses and entertainment in San Francisco.
