MOTION: Commissioner Caminong moved to approve the July 20, 2021 meeting minutes; Commissioner Lee seconded the motion.
ACTION: The Commission approved the Meeting Minutes of the July 20, 2021 Commission meeting.
AYES: President Bleiman, Vice President Caminong, Commissioner Lee, Commissioner Thomas, Commissioner Wang.

3. Report from Executive Director: Legislative/Policy Update: Update on the recent Entertainment and Nightlife Industry Survey; Staff and Office Update: brief update; Update on Board of Appeals Actions: none; Corrective Actions: none. [Discussion Item]

5. Updates on Nightlife Business Assistance in Response to COVID-19: Ben Van Houten, Business Development Manager, Nightlife and Ent Commissioner Falzon – excused absence

6. Hearing and Possible Action regarding applications for permits under the jurisdiction of the Entertainment Commission. [Discussion and Possible Action Item]
Consent Calendar:
All matters listed hereunder constitute a Consent Calendar, are considered to be routine by the Entertainment Commission, and will be acted upon by a single roll call vote of the Commission. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a member of the Commission, the public, or staff so requests, in which event the matter shall be removed from the Consent Calendar and considered as a separate item at this or a future hearing.
Consent Agenda:
- EC-1602 – Asdolah (Mike) Saremy of American Bites, Inc., dba American Bites, 478 Green St., Limited Live Performance permit
MOTION: Commissioner Caminong made a motion to move this agenda item to the October 5th, 2021 hearing. Commissioner Wang seconded the motion.
ACTION: The Commission approved the motion to move this agenda item to the October 5th, 2021 hearing.

MOTION: Commissioner Wang made a motion to approve with the Good Neighbor Policy; Commissioner Perez seconded the motion.
ACTION: The Commission approved the Limited Live Performance permit with the Good Neighbor Policy.
AYES: President Bleiman, Vice President Caminong, Commissioner Lee, Commissioner Thomas, Commissioner Wang, Commissioner Perez.

- EC-1604 – HPT Clift TRS LLC, dba The Clift Royal Sonesta Hotel, 495 Geary St., Place of Entertainment permit
MOTION: Commissioner Lee made a motion to approve with the Good Neighbor Policy; Commission Wang seconded the motion.
ACTION: The Commission conditionally approved the Place of Entertainment permit with the Good Neighbor Policy.
AYES: President Bleiman, Vice President Caminong, Commissioner Lee, Commissioner Thomas, Commissioner Wang, Commissioner Perez.

7. Review and possible action to change the conditions on the Just Add Music permit #JAM-010, dba Al's Place located at 1499 Valencia Street, San Francisco, CA. 94110, at the request of permittee. [Discussion and Possible Action Item]
MOTION: Commissioner Thomas made a motion to approve with conditions requested by permittee; Commissioner Perez seconded the motion.
ACTION: The Commission approved the permittee’s requested change to the conditions of their Just Add Music permit.
AYES: President Bleiman, Vice President Caminong, Commissioner Lee, Commissioner Thomas, Commissioner Wang, Commissioner Perez.

8. Discussion and Possible Action to adopt written comments and/or recommendations to be submitted by the Executive Director to the Planning Department and/or Department of Building Inspection regarding noise issues for proposed residential projects per Chapter 116 of the of the Administrative Code. [Discussion and Possible Action Item]
Regular Agenda:
- 425 Broadway Street, Bl/Lot: 0163/002. Discussion and possible action to adopt written comments and/or recommendations regarding noise issues for the proposed residential project at 425 Broadway, which is located within 300 feet of Vanity SF, Broadway Studios + FAME Venue, Hue, Bamboo Hut, Horizon, and The Cosmo Bar and Lounge, permitted Places of Entertainment.

MOTION: Commissioner Bleiman made a motion to submit staff recommendations to the Planning Department; Commissioner Thomas seconded the motion.
ACTION: The Commission approved the proposed residential project with standard conditions and staff recommendations.
AYES: President Bleiman, Vice President Caminong, Commissioner Lee, Commissioner Thomas, Commissioner Wang, Commissioner Perez.
NAYS: None
Public Comment:
+ Corey Smith from the Housing Action Coalition expressed his support for the project as it turns parking spaces into more apartments for people to live which he stated is what the City needs.
