The San Francisco Police Department will be holding a graduation ceremony for the 259th Basic Academy Class, Friday, June 15th, 2018, at the Scottish Rite Auditorium, 2850 19th Avenue at Sloat Blvd. at 6:00 P.M.  There are 36 recruits graduating (31 men and 5 women).

One member holds a Master’s degree, nineteen have earned Bachelor’s degrees, and five have earned Associate’s degrees. Five graduates served in the military as members of the US Army, the Army National Guard and US Marine Corps. Members of the class previously served as SFPD Cadets and Police Service Aides and were employed in the fields of education, technology, and skilled trades.

Several graduates are bilingual, fluent in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, German, Vietnamese, Hebrew, Russian and Japanese.

The academy class has completed 34 weeks of training. Following the graduation, the newly sworn SFPD officers will begin a 16-week field-training program at various district stations.
