Dr. Harrison Parker, Co-Chair provided an overview of the past three annual health fairs. Focusing specifically on the last one which was planned with high expectations for participation from the elementary schools, but only yielded approximately 150-200 participants, which included SECF staff and UCSF medical students. |

Will there be a health fair in 2011? Yes Funding: PUC per Sam Murray Event planning: Request representative from the BayView Police Dept./Request school principals assign a representative to act on their behalf Organizations to contact for participation: BayView Foundation/ YMCA/ Boys & Girls Club/ Rotary Club/ Brown Bombers/ Mother Brown’s Program/ Health Department/ Whitney Young Child Development Center/ Captain Suhr, Police Department/ City College/ BayView Project/ Sunnydale Project/ National Council of Negro Women/ Dr. Nadine Burke/ UCSF Medical Students/ Local Churches – True Hope – Providence – St. Johns – St. James – Friendship/ Focus: Focus on the schools that want to be involved, but it will not be the main focus. Services Provided: Health Screenings, Dental Screenings, Garden Project (a living garden in the parking lot-Tony Caruso) Honorees: National Council Of Negro Women |
