COMMUNITY OUTREACH & PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE

&

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

 

SOUTHEAST COMMUNITY FACILITY COMMISSION

Requests for public comment may also be heard after Commission discussion of an agenda item by completing an information card and submitting it to the Commission Secretary.  Requests are given “first come first serve” priority and speakers may be limited to three minutes.

 

AGENDA

1.    Call to Order

2.    Roll Call

3.    Announcements:  The Sunshine Ordinance prohibits the use of electronic sound producing devices at/during public meetings.  Please be advised that the meeting chair may remove any person (s) responsible for the ringing or use of cell phones, pagers and similar sound-producing electronic devices from the meeting room.

4.    Public Comment:  Members of the public may address the Commission on matters under the jurisdiction of the Commission that is not on today’s agenda.

5.    Topic:  Collaboration between the two ad-hoc committees where mutual goals or programs cross or run parallel to avoid duplication of efforts and wasted resources.

6.    Open discussion on mission & objective/goals of the Community Outreach & Public Safety Committee: “Promote the increase aware/access to services through outreach and public interation as well as boosting attendance of entrepreneurial business opportunity in the BVHP/Southeast Sector.”

Discussion:

How can the Community Outreach Ad-Hoc Committee engage the general public and boost attendance at the SECF Commission meetings?

Which critical Community issues are being addressed?

Which critical issues are not being addressed?

Extend invitation to important/prominent community/city leaders to attend future Commission meetings.

Extend invitation to pastors whose places of worship are located inside the Bayview Hunter’s Point.

TV coverage of future SECF Commission meetings.

7.    Open discussion on mission & objective/goals of the Economic Development Ad-Hoc Committee:  “Advocating and encouraging the promotion of entrepreneurial business opportunities in the BVHP/ Southeast Sector.”

Suggestions/plans for recruiting Community based organizations, Government organizations and San Francisco city residents to achieve said committee goals.

Extend invitation to for profit and non-profit companies to address the SECF Commission and general public, on business opportunities, ie., San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, African-American Chamber of Commerce, Asian American Chamber of Commerce, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, etc.
