Requests for public comment may also be heard after Commission discussion of an agenda item by completing an information card and submitting it to The Commission Secretary.  Requests are given ‘first come first serve’ priority and speakers may be limited to three minutes.

1.    CALL TO ORDER

 

2.    ROLL CALL

 

3.    ANNOUNCEMENT: The Sunshine Ordinance prohibits the use of electronic sound producing devices at/during public meetings.  Please be advised that the meeting chair may remove any person(s) responsible for the ringing or use of cell phones, pagers and similar sound-producing electronic devices from the meeting room.

 

4.    PROPOSED ACTION: Be it resolved that the minutes of the regularly scheduled Economic Advisory Committee meeting of Monday, August 13, 2012 be approved as submitted.

 

5.     PUBLIC COMMENT: Members of the public may address the Commission on matters under the jurisdiction of the Commission that is not on today’s agenda.

 

6.     Discussion on committee preparations for SECFC to sponsor a Job/Business Fair to promote goals of advocating and encouraging the promotion of jobs and entrepreneurial business opportunities in the BVHP/Southeast Sector. (Discussion & Action)

a)     Selection of sub-committee and tentative date for planning and coordination of the job fair
b)     Division of labor

 

7.     Submissions for suggested presenters/speakers for the coming year at Committee and Commission meetings.

 

8.     PRESENTERS (Discussion and Possible Action)

Ms. Regina Dick-Endrizzi, Executive Director of the Office of Small Business
Topic:  Focus on how the Office of Small Business can partner with the SECFC Economic Development Advisory Committee to promote local economic growth in the community and lay the ground work for a community business startup workshop or Business Fair in early 2013 with an emphasis on how to obtain funding for starting a business.

 

9.     OLD AND ON-GOING BUSINESS (Discussion and Possible Action)

        Discuss the criteria of opening a bank account under the Economic Development Advisory Committee of the SECFC to fund programs and projects of interest to the SECFC and the community, i.e. funding and accepting donations for event expenses.

 

10.     NEW BUSINESS REQUESTS for Future Agenda Items. (Discussion)
