RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE
PEDESTRIAN SAFETY CITIZENS' ADVISORY COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, San Francisco is a transit-first city; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Transportation Agency will soon change the focus of street engineering and planning in San Francisco from an auto-based model to a sustainable transportation model (including transit, pedestrian, and bicycles); and
WHEREAS, San Francisco is among the most 5 most likely cities in which you might be killed as a pedestrian; and
WHEREAS, no official citizen's advisory body currently exists;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Bicycle Advisory Committee (SFBAC) of the Board of Supervisors wholeheartedly supports the establishment of the Pedestrian Safety Citizen's Advisory Committee; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the SFBAC urges the Board of Supervisors to establish the Pedestrian Safety Citizens' Advisory Committee.
