Call for Artists: Public Art Opportunities on MUNI Vehicles in Mission District

San Francisco Planning is launching a Public Art Campaign, seeking artists who represent the distinct identity of Mission Street. The Mission Street Art on MUNI Series will select four Bay Area artists to produce two pieces each of original artwork to be temporarily displayed at the BART 16th Street Plaza and on the exterior and interior of MUNI vehicles that travel through the Mission District. The goal of the Mission Street Art on MUNI Series is to commission artwork that is representative of the history of Mission Street while providing a sense of cultural identity and vitality.

The Mission Street Art on MUNI Series is open to professional & practicing artists residing in the Bay Area and working primarily in any two-dimensional media. The campaign is directed by San Francisco Planning through the Mission Public Life Plan.
