Temporary Closure of Showplace Triangle Plaza

Showplace Triangle Plaza has been temporarily removed by the City due to nearby construction. An improved plaza will be built in the future.

Showplace Triangle Plaza

Due to nearby construction requiring use of the space, Showplace Triangle Plaza, located on Eighth Street between 16th and Irwin Streets, has been removed by the City.

However, the City intends to build an improved plaza once construction is complete. The City plans to redesign Showplace Triangle Plaza to better serve the neighborhood and make it an inviting and dynamic space. The new design for the plaza could include such amenities as rain gardens, public seating, upgraded paving and landscaping, and improved visibility from the street.

Until construction is complete, neighbors of Showplace Triangle Plaza can enjoy nearby Jackson Playground.

The Showplace Triangle Plaza is a part of the Pavement to Parks program managed by the San Francisco Planning Department, in collaboration with the Department of Public Works, the Municipal Transportation Agency, and the Mayor's Office.
