Process and Procedures for Filling the Upcoming Vacancy of the Human Resources Director Position Due to the Upcoming Retirement of the Current Human Resources Director – Personnel Matter.

August 3, 2020:

Directed the Executive Officer to move forward to seek a budget for a recruiter for a robust recruitment not a minimal recruitment, obtain other human resources director job announcements or qualification lists from other comparable large public entities to assist in designing the appropriate job announcement for the Human Resources Director position.  Directed staff to review thoroughly the classification specification for amendment and posting.

August 17, 2020:

Schedule the item for a special meeting on August 31, 2020 at 11 a.m.

Action:

Adopted the report.  Add memorandum of understanding and Workers’ compensation to the 1293 Class Specs and post the proposed class action.  Authorize Executive Officer and Department of Human Resources to negotiate with Alliance for a lower amount.  (Vote of 5 to 0)

Authorize CSC President and Executive Officer to move forward with the contract with the understanding that Alliance can start right away.
(Vote of 5 to 0)
